Layla is an accomplished clinician and researcher with a passion for improving patient outcomes in the field of chronic wound management. Over the past ten years, she has specialised in care and research for patients with venous leg ulceration and managing complex wounds, providing her with invaluable insight into the impact of chronic wounds on patients' lives.
Motivated by this experience, Layla pursued further development opportunities, securing both an NIHR ICA Fellowship and an Imperial Health Charity Fellowship. This allowed her to expand her skills and knowledge, gaining expertise in qualitative research, behavioural science, public health research, epidemiology, and tissue viability.
She continues to provide evidence-based care and champion nursing research in the field of vascular surgery and wound care in her current post as an NIHR Doctoral Research Fellow and Vascular Clinical Nurse Specialist.
