Varicose veins most commonly appear on one leg or both legs, but can usually be treated with great success. Getting booked in for a diagnostic assessment is the first step on your varicose vein journey. During your appointment, one of our ultrasound sonographers will start by completing a duplex ultrasound scan to evaluate your veins ahead of your treatment recommendation.
This scan of your varicose veins will then be used by our team to provide you with a treatment recommendation plan suited to your needs. One of our vascular GPs will then discuss this recommendation with you during your session.
Depending on your treatment requirements, it may be advised that you either have radiofrequency ablation or foam sclerotherapy treatment. In some instances, it may be recommended to have a combination of the two.
Following your treatment, you’ll receive comprehensive aftercare instructions along with contact information for our aftercare team should you need any additional support once you leave.
Our Glasgow clinic also offers thread vein (or spider vein) removal on the face, chest or legs. Our thread vein treatment is delivered using the latest innovative technology and is carried out by our specialist doctors. During your initial appointment, you’ll receive an assessment followed by treatment recommendation using either Veinwave or sclerotherapy treatment. Both treatments are non-invasive, requiring no downtime at all.
At UK Vein Clinic we've partnered with Chrysalis Finance to offer patients the flexibility when it comes to paying for their treatment. Eligible patients can spread the cost of treatment over 6 or 10 months at 0% interest (subject to credit checks and approval). If you're interested in starting your treatment journey using our finance options, get in touch today on 0208 187 3999.
Duplex Ultrasound Assessment
Non-invasive, painless ultrasound assessment to map your veins and formulate an appropriate treatment plan.
Radiofrequency Ablation
Used on larger veins, electric currents heat up a small area of a damaged vein, causing it to collapse and block itself off entirely.
Foam Sclerotherapy
A harmless foam solution is injected into the varicose vein, blocking off blood flow to the vein and collapsing it.
Microsclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is used to remove spider veins by collapsing the walls of the damaged vein, which causes the blood flow to be blocked.
Veinwave Treatment
Veinwave encourages the body to naturally reabsorb spider veins by applying microwave energy into the damaged vein.
Vein Treatment Aftercare
Our aftercare clinics help you to recover faster and help to ensure positive clinical outcomes for all of our patients.
