Navigating your treatment journey should be simple and stress-free, especially when it comes to making the most of your insurance policy. Working with some of the UK’s biggest names in insurance, we want to make this as hassle free as possible.
It’s widely accepted by insurers that varicose veins, when left untreated can lead to more serious complications and outcomes – this isn’t just cosmetic. This means that all our insurance partners understand the importance of treating varicose veins before they become worse.
Knowing where to start can sometimes feel a bit daunting, but we’re here to take all the confusion out of this process for you. If you’re looking to proceed with treatment via your insurer, follow the steps below to kick-start your journey.
Please bear in mind that all policies are different and subject to terms and conditions – you’ll need to speak to your insurer to understand what might be required of you.
We’ve worked hard to partner with insurers across our clinic locations to give you more choice for your preferred clinic location. Whilst your insurer might not be present in all our locations, our team will do their best to help you find the next best location that suit your needs. You can find the nearest clinic with your insurance provider below. If it’s not on here, please call us anyway as we might be able to assist.
Getting your treatment covered by your insurer may depend on a couple of things such as:
It’s best to call your insurer directly to see what your coverage is. In some cases, your insurer might not cover your diagnostic assessment so it’s best to find out directly.
After you’ve got the core information you need from us, we recommend you reach out to your insurer directly. Following some security questions, they’ll be able to give you a detailed overview of exactly what they cover based on your policy.
Your card details will be taken at the point of booking because despite going through your insurer, you’ll still be subject to the standard terms and conditions around our cancellation policy. Find more details here.
During the booking process, our expert advisers will talk you through this and take your details. No charges will be made unless you fail to meet the standards of our cancellation policy.
Before we can book you in for your diagnostic appointment, we’ll need you to get an authorisation code from your insurer. You’ll also need to share the details of your insurer, membership number and authorisation code with us.
Unfortunately, if your insurer is unable to cover this, you’ll need to go down the self-paying route. We know you might not have planned for this, so speak to one of our advisors and we’ll talk you through possible payment plans available.
Yes, all our partner insurers provide coverage for both radiofrequency ablation and foam sclerotherapy. However, your policy might vary, so please check with them directly.
This will depend on your policy, we’d recommend checking with your insurer to be sure. Any excess owed will be paid to UK Vein Clinic directly.
If you decide to proceed to treatment without full coverage, we’ll talk you through your payment options to cover the remaining balance.
Unfortunately, insurers consider thread veins as being more cosmetic and therefore do not currently cover the cost of treatment for these veins. But we do have options for you to add a course of thread vein treatment onto your varicose vein treatment – just let us know and we’ll talk you through pricing.
Unfortunately, only the policy holder can speak with the insurer regarding any queries.
If your insurance is due to expire, please speak with our team as soon as possible so that we can help accommodate any shorter timeframes. However, if it expires during your treatment, unfortunately you’ll have to cover this cost independently as a self-pay patient.
Of course, if your insurer only covers a particular doctor or consultant, let us know and we’ll help you find a slot that suits you.
We're pleased to be able to provide our world-class varicose vein treatment in a variety of places throughout the United Kingdom. Learn more about your treatment options, including endovenous radio-frequency ablation (EVRF) and foam sclerotherapy, at the clinic closest to you
